Pipes Price in India

  • The cost of DI pipes has increased due to a marked imbalance between supply and demand for smaller diameters. The demand for these smaller sizes has surged to the point where manufacturers have ceased offering pricing for them. Currently, within an 800-mile radius, 100mm K7 DI Pipes from all manufacturers are priced between Rs. 1340 and Rs. 1380 in Tata, Jai Balaji & Electrotherm. This increase is attributed to overbooking by suppliers and the exceptionally high demand for smaller diameters, further exacerbating the supply constraints.
  • The pricing for MS (Mild Steel) ERW (Electric Resistance Welded) pipes in the YST-210 grade starts at Rs. 56,500 per ton for secondary brands, while primary brands are priced at Rs. 59,500 per ton. There has been a noticeable price increase in the secondary market driven by heightened demand for ERW pipes.

Pipes Demand & Supply

  • Due to over scheduling and high capacity utilization, the cost of ductile iron pipes has become challenging for manufacturers to estimate.
  • Delivery of larger diameter pipes (400 mm +) has increased as new rolling months free up capacity. Meanwhile, lead times for MS-Spiral Pipes are extending, as coil and plate producers delay rolling raw materials into pipes.
  • The rolling schedules across different sectors could be more consistent, leading suppliers to anticipate potential delays in deliveries, even for large orders that have already been booked.
